Now that the Cuckoo has gone home to rest, the dust has settled and the runners have left their footprints firmly on the hills of Run Wexford may I say a huge congratulations to Dee Boland and her amazing team for what can only be described as an amazing inaugural Wexford marathon, as I traversed this undulating course I met with some fantastic marshals with copious amounts of water, bananas and goodies, helpful Garda, men on bikes, friendly photographers, the odd motorists who gave me a friendly wave and words of encouragement and I thought to myself “how lucky am I that I get to experience this?” The amazing greeting on the finish line when legs were faltering was extremely uplifting. The beautiful medal and colourful buff a lovely memento of our marathon efforts. The lovely soup and roll afterwards was a lovely way to replenish the carbohydrates we had expended on our marathon journey. Thanks Dee and all your team, I now look forward to Run Wexford 2016, we will certainly be back!
Just a quick note to say thank-you to you and everyone who had a hand in making today’s run happen. A tough course, I’m going to feel it for a good few days, but I really enjoyed the day. Please extend my thanks also to the 4h30 pacers – they were friendly, and kept a good pace and made the run great fun! All in all a fantastic day today! Thank you!
Hi Deirdre, just want to say thanks for a great race yesterday. Well done on organising Wexford’s 1st Marathon and hope you enjoyed it as much as we all did. Here’s to many more years of marathons in beautiful WEXFORD.
Deirdre, Just a quick word to say a huge thank you for all your time and effort in organising Sunday’s marathon ( although I didn’t thank you on some of them hills). The organisation , the medals and the marshalling were all to an extremely high standard and the use of the leisure facilities and the soup was a lovely touch. Wishing you continued success.
